Perform. Build Confidence. Make Friends. Completely Free.
Only 20 spaces available
Music Gym believes every child in our community should have access to music and performing arts, regardless of their background or ability to pay. That's why we run a free music theatre programme every Saturday during term time. We've established Music Gym Academy CIC — a registered Community Interest Company — to support this programme through grant funding and community partnerships as it grows.
"We're not just teaching music. We're building confidence, friendships, and a love of performing art to children in our community."
— Al, Music Gym Founder

MA Musical Theatre · Rockschool Teacher
Your child's sessions are led by Aimée, one of Music Gym's core teachers and a specialist in working with children of all ages and abilities — including those with additional needs. A professional Musical Theatre performer with a background in woodwind instruments, Aimée has spent the last five years teaching alongside performing in plays, musicals, and pantomimes. Her lessons are upbeat, encouraging and often filled with laughter.

"My two daughters attend Musical Theatre with Aimée. Both my girls love the class and have grown in confidence. Comments from my daughters: 'the class is great and I have lots of fun' and 'I like learning new dances and singing'."

"Aimée has a wonderful way of connecting with the children. She keeps my 10 year old engaged and is incredibly patient with her, which has helped with her confidence. My daughter really looks forward to her lessons."

Your child doesn't need any experience — most of our students have never done anything like this before. Aimée runs a warm, relaxed class where everyone joins in at their own pace.
When you arrive at Meriden Community Centre, come to the main hall. Aimée will introduce herself and get your child into the group straight away. Parents are welcome to stay in the waiting area or drop off and come back — whichever works for you.
Each session runs for about an hour and covers singing, acting, and movement. The kids work towards a short performance at the end of each term, but the focus is always on having fun and building confidence rather than getting things perfect. Your child just needs to wear comfortable clothes they can move in — no special kit required.
If your child has additional needs, that's absolutely fine. We're an inclusive school and Aimée is experienced at adapting sessions so every child can take part. Have a look at our inclusive music lessons page for more detail, or just mention anything we should know when you get in touch.
Yes — completely free, every week, no catches. We fund these classes through our paid instrument lessons, so your child benefits at no cost to you.
Children aged 5 to 11. We keep the class small — a maximum of 20 — so every child gets individual attention.
We'd love your child to come regularly because they'll get more out of it, but there's no register and no penalty for missing a week. Life happens.
Lots of our music theatre students go on to start instrument lessons with us — guitar, drums, piano, or singing. That's a paid service, but your child will already know the building, the team, and the vibe, which makes the transition really easy.
Every Saturday during term time. Here are our key dates for 2026/27:
